About 3 months ago I noticed them doing a neighbors roof and I asked if they was satisfied with the work. They said they were great and encouraged me to book quickly because they are frequently fully booked often weeks out. We felt very lucky when the owner/operator, said he could get us an estimate in a couple of days and then managed to do the work within just a couple of days. He was very professional and very polite. We have talked to other companies and dad just felt The Lord was telling him to continue on with Eric. Every time I have a concern I called Eric and he always answered my questions quickly. He gave us a detailed bill as to what would be used and how much it would cost. And last night I learned that this company has put on 4 roofs for people, for free, who did not have insurance and could not afford one. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a new roof or to have one fixed… Eric has never lied to us or tried to convince us to do anything other than what Daddy wanted to do. A few days after Hurricane Laura decided to tear through here with a vengeance, Lucy from Fortay Roofing contacted me. She had found me on Zillow and reached out and introduced herself. But before I get into this review, I need to preface it. So I have a several listings and 4 of them were under contract. One of them in particular was scheduled to close the same day that Laura made landfall. We have been trying to close this deal for about 8 weeks. So the storm damaged the roof, and fence and these repairs must be made prior to closing the deal. They called other roofers in the area and were told it would be a 9 week wait due to the shortage of materials. They had just told me this just before Lucy called. So after speaking with Lucy and telling her about my clients roof, she had Cory Phillips give me a call. I asked him how quick they could get it done and he said they can start right after field adjuster comes out. They sent a detailed estimate and contingency contract to my sellers and booked the roof install. But here’s how these guys stood out to me. The home is vacant and sellers asked me to meet adjuster there. Cory and the owner of Fortay Roofing, Anthony, met me there. These guys were dressed professionally, clean cut, matching company shirts, and were punctual. At first the adjuster was very quiet, writing his notes, taking measurements. And one of the guys asked adjuster a question and made a funny comment (I did not hear) but it made the adjuster laugh and he started loosening up a bit. Turns out adjuster loves to hunt And before you know it I had done heard of every great hunting lodge between Texas and Georgia. After that they got down to business, Cory and Anthony know the lingo and know what to say and how to say it to these adjusters. I was really impressed with these guys and sent them to my next adjusters meeting at another one of my listings. I am 100% certain that by being there today, my clients payout will be more than if they had not been there. I guarantee that at the end of his day, today, this inspection is going to be the one that stands out because he got to talk about his favorite thing, hunting and had some good conversations and in a space with good positive energy. Which is a rare find after a catastrophic naturals disaster. I can’t speak on their quality of work just yet. But I will update my review once the roof is installed. As of now, I highly recommend! Update 10/10/2020 So since my original review a lot has happened. I was finally able to close on the home that had been under contract when Laura hit. And we were able to close much earlier than expected. That’s bc Cory and his team were awesome and installed the roof, gutters, repaired ceiling inside home, installed new insulation within about of week after adjuster came out. I went by to inspect and everything looked great. But there was a section of the gutter along the back patio that came detached. Called Cory and within minutes he had a crew out making repairs and it was pouring rain outside. Cory even stopped by to make sure everything was good and that I was satisfied with the repairs. It was a minor fix that could have waited at least until the rain stopped but he was in top of things. Fortay roofing also installed a roof on a different listing I had. They did such an awesome job that the neighbor across the street calls me and wanted to know who installed the roof and who to contact bc he needed his roof replaced. I know this is a long review but I want you as the reader to feel confident that you are making the right decision when hiring these guys. So here’s another example of how Cory does business and proves he is here to help SWLA by providing a much needed service to our area. He is not here to take advantage of us or our insurance companies. So my husband knows a local roofer. The roofer told him that even if you had no roof damage that because the winds were so strong during Laura that the warranty on our 1 year roof was now void and must be replaced bc a roof cannot withstand those types of winds regardless of its age. So I call Cory and ask him. He said that if any type of debris got under the shingles then yes this causes them not to stick properly and could cause leaks, maybe not now, but maybe a year or two later. But he also said that just because their were winds over 110 mph does not mean your roof is bad. Your roof can be perfectly fine afterwards and not need replacement. He said that’s something roofers tell clients so they can get more business by billing insurance companies to replaced a perfectly good roof. He also offered to come inspect my roof for me at no charge. So I’ve given you plenty of reasons to trust these guys. They are quick, professional, and install beautiful roofs. You will not be disappointed. read less
